Mallika woo nana

Mallika Sherawat enjoys a challenge. She is right now wooing the very stern Marathi manus turned Hindi actor Nana Patekar for a role. Mallika Sherawat is keen to play the role of Lavani dancer which was played by veteran actress Sandhya in V Shantaram’s Marathi Film Pinjra . It is believed that the actress is in talks with her one of the best buddies of Bollywood Nana Patekar, to make the remake of the same film in Hindi. Mallika Sherawat and Nana Patekar shared a fantastic onscreen chemistry in Anees Bazami’s Welcome . But very few know that their onscreen chemistry rocks because they have a very good off screen rapport. Recently when Mallika was shooting at Filmistan Studio for Sanjay Chhel’s Maan Gaye Mughal-e-Aazam , she immediately went and dragged him to her set. Everyone from her co star Rahul Bose, Paresh Raval and Director Sanjay Chhel were delighted by his presence. Nana gelled with everyone on the set. After all the fun, Nana and Mallika had some serious conversation over this film. A unit hand from the set informs that duo had a long discussion over the remake of Pinjra . Mallika desperately wants Nana to remake the classic Marathi film Pinjra which was a revenge story of a woman. Apparently Mallika is keen to do Sandhya’s role who gave a powerful performance. Also she suggested Nana to do Sriram Lagoo’s character. Pinjra is the story of a folk dancer who vows to take revenge on a village teacher for the insult she faced in the village. But later she herself falls in love with the teacher seeing his unselfish character. The teacher also gets involved in her emotionally and physically, thus moving away from his character, which was worshipped by the villagers. When released years back, Pinjra was a blockbuster hit that gave huge recognition to Marathi cinema. Mallika is playing Anarkali in Sanjay Chhel’s forthcoming black comedy Maan Gaye Mughal-e-Azam . It can be recalled that the same role was portrayed by Madhubala. It won’t be wrong to say that Mallika is highly inspired by such strong roles and is desperately looking forward to portray them in her films.
